We love getting new suggestions from our readers! First, search our site to make sure it isn't already listed, then use our Add an Attraction form. Thanks for contributing.
How do you decide what attractions should be listed on your site? Do businesses pay to be listed on ParentsConnect?
No, listings are not paid. We aim to include a wide range of venues on ParentsConnect, and we understand that what one family loves, another may find uninspiring. So we rely on our local editors, and on local families, to let us know what we should be adding, and deleting, from the site. If you have a suggestion, we encourage you to share it with us using our Add an Attraction form.
I want to list my business or event. How should I proceed?
We receive many requests for inclusion on the site, and listings are posted at the discretion of the editors. To be considered for listing on ParentsConnect, it's best to use our Add an Attraction form or Add an Event form. You can also email and include the following information. (Send the information in the body of an email only; we don't open attachments.)
Name of business Address Phone Email (if any) Website URL (if any) Hours Price range (inexpensive, moderate, expensive) Recommended age range A paragraph describing your business or activity
If the city editor is interested in learning more about your business, he or she will contact you to set up a time to visit, or to request more information.
I want to update the listing for my business or event. How should I proceed?
Thanks for letting us know that your page needs to be updated. You can send an email to the local editor and let him or her know what changes should be made. Send the information in the body of an email only; we don't open attachments.
How can I find activities in my neighborhood or near a certain address?
On the city main page, look for "Find What's Nearby," and choose a neighborhood from the pulldown menu or enter the ZIP code.

ParentsConnect provides information on many places to go and things to do, but we don't actually operate any of them. We provide phone numbers, email addresses, and URLs so that you can contact those organizations directly.
Can you recommend a class/restaurant/place to have a picnic/etc?

An event you listed in your newsletter turned out to be sold out. What happened?
Our city editors make every effort to provide up-to-date information in the newsletters, but we can't guarantee complete accuracy. Sometimes an event will sell out after the newsletters are mailed, for example, or a venue will accidentally release incorrect information.
I've been to a place you've described and want to share my own experience. How can I let other parents know?
Use the "post your own review" feature available from each attraction's listing. Be sure your comments follow our comment posting guidelines.
What are the guidelines for posting comments?
We want the ParentsConnect community to be a place where families can learn more about all the city has to offer, and take advantage of local parent comments to find places to go and things to do that will best suit their specific needs.
Inappropriate and off-topic postings, personal attacks on individuals, and comments that would be more appropriately handled by the Better Business Bureau will be deleted. We also block postings by frequent offenders. Click here to see our posting guidelines.
I own a business listed on ParentsConnect, and I've gotten a parent comment that I feel is unfair. What can I do?
We only publish comments that fall within our posting guidelines. If you feel your business has been unfairly or inaccurately described, we recommend that you respond with a comment of your own (go to your listing, click "Post a comment" and follow the prompts) and that you invite the poster to contact you directly. All comments expire within two years of being posted.
How often do you update listings?
We prompt businesses and attractions to update their listings once or twice a year, and we also ask them to let the local editor know when and if changes need to be made to their pages. Pages are automatically deleted each year if updates have not been made within that time.

I have a new email address/I'm moving to another city/I want to change my newsletter subscription information. How do I do that?

I've signed up as a member, but I'm not receiving my weekly email newsletter. Where is it?
You should receive your first newsletter within a day or two of signing up. New issues are mailed each Thursday (with a few exceptions to allow for holiday schedules). If you're not getting your newsletter, it's possible your email system is mistaking it for spam (junk email). Configure your spam blocker to allow email from @mms.parentsconnect.com, or ask your email administrator to do it.

We store your city choice using "cookies," the standard way for websites to preserve user-specific information. You may have turned off cookies in your browser. To turn them on, go into the "Options" or "Settings" section of your browser and look for "enable cookies." It's found under "privacy options" in many browsers. (Please read on for privacy concerns).

Like most large websites, ParentsConnect depends on special files called "cookies" to recognize you as a subscriber and deliver the appropriate pages. A cookie is simply a small amount of data used as an identification number; it is sent to your browser from a web server, stored on your computer's hard drive, and sent back to us as you request each further page, for example to preserve your choice of city or data you've entered in a form. We use cookies only to facilitate your use of the ParentsConnect site. We will not use cookies for any other purposes, nor will we share cookie data with any third parties.
