The
16th Street Mall is located in the heart of downtown Denver and runs the length of the downtown area. It is 16 blocks and exactly one mile long. The Mall features dozens of outdoor cafes and restaurants, a well as independent street vendors/carts.
Most of downtown Denver's
shopping is located along the
16th Street Mall. More than 50 shops are located in the
Denver Pavilions right on the 16th Street Mall between Welton and Glenarm. Every few blocks during the summer, you'll find a blues guitarist, a wailing clarinetist, or a jazzy sax player. And most of them are pretty decent.
The Mall, ranks as
one of Denver's top ten tourist spots and is definitely worth the stop. If you aren't much of a shopper, you'll still find plenty to see and do while downtown. Denver is a walking city and the best way to appreciate the architecture, parks, and history of the downtown area is on foot. For those who prefer to ride,
free shuttle service carries people from one end of the mall to the other.
