Once a vaudeville and silent picture palace, the 5th Avenue Theatre has a gorgeous, ornate Chinese interior inspired by the Forbidden City in Beijing. When you enter the hall, look for the golden dragons and phoenixes on the ceiling.
Now home to The 5th Avenue Musical Theatre Company, a non-profit producer and presenter of musical theatre, the 5th Avenue also hosts concerts, lectures, and films. The theatre company offers some family-friendly shows - usually around the holidays - but most productions fall within the PG-13 range.
