Actor's Youth Theatre4515

This was our first experience with Actors Youth Theater. Our son LOVED the experience! He can't wait to try out again. As parents, we wanted to just see how it would go and had few expectations. We were completely satisfied from tryouts to performance. We weren't sure if the rehearsals over the summer would be a sticking point, but he was thrilled to go every time and he made friends. We can see how he matured, takes more responsibility, and at least from our perspective, gave his all. What more can you ask of an 8 year old? When the show ended, he was sad. We look forward to our continuing relationship with AYT.

I have participated in several of AYT productions both onstage and backstage and I have loved every moment of it. The directors really care about the performers and their main goal is to help children and teenagers grow as performers and people. I have learned so much from AYT and each new, wonderful experience makes me want to come back for more. AYT is the best youth theatre out there, whether you are looking to perform onstage or see a show. They are always willing to try new actors, which is one of the best things about AYT, and they always ready to welcome new people into the AYT family. If I could give AYT 20 stars, I would, but 5 will have to suffice.

As a young (17), but experienced, actress, i have acted at more than 10 theaters. And AYT is by FAR, the most welcoming, wonderful theater i've been to!! The shows are ALWAYS wonderful, and great family entertainment! And they put on many popular shows, as compared to other theaters who do origionaly written or fairytales... AYT does Broadway Hits!!! :D Shows AUDIENCES want to see, and ACTORS want to be in!!! (Such as "All SHook Up" "Aida" and "Thoroughly Modern Millie" and planning on doing ((next season)) "Little Women" and "Les Mis"!!!!!, yeah, the 3rd longest-running show on Broadway! And they've GOT the talent!!) I love AYT, and for anyone who's looking to take their children to a great show, OR looking to put their child in a great, caring theater company to build their skills, THIS IS THE PLACE!!!!!!!!!!!

I have worked for AYT for almost four years now, and I have to say that this theatre is the best thing that has ever happened to me as an actress. The people are fantastic, as are the costumes, atmosphere, talent and quality of the shows. There is so much heart from all the performers and we love to do what we're so passionate about. And the review about AYT only casting the same actors every show, that is NOT true. There is a group of actors who continue to do shows, myself included, by the audition process because they are all talented performers who deserve to be in the shows. I meet new people in every show that I do, so there definitely IS new actors introduced all the time. :) Vote for AYT!

I LOVE AYT!!! I have been involved with AYT for 3 years. Marcus & Julie are very good directors. They are fun and care about the kids. They create a family atmosphere. A lot of the same actors come back and audition because they love to be there. There are also new actors every show. M & J cast on the audition - not on whether they know the actor or not. New actors are welcome! And every actor who is cast is brought into the family. I signed up to help on the Board because I believe in AYT and what M & J are trying to accomplish! I love theatre and I love the atmosphere here. My boys have been in several plays and have loved the experience. It's a great place to make friends who are interested in what you are interested in. I highly recommend AYT to any actor or parent out there. Come check out a show and see what you think! We'd love to have you there!

My daugher has performed with 3 other childrens theater companies and AYT has been by far the best experience she has had. I can honeslty say that there is no favoritism in the audition process unlike one of the other companys in the east valley. Weather she has a bit part in the ensemble or one of the lead characters, her experience has been wonderful. We give Marcus and Julie a standing ovation for their hard work and commitment to the communittee.

Not only is this a fabulous place for children to be exposed to the world of acting, it is great for the parents because it is free! Our daughter LOVES AYT...the directors, the many cast members, the performances, the overall atmosphere! I would highly recommend Actor's Youth Theatre to anyone...and I do! OFTEN!!

Great family shows!!!!

GREAT PLACE!!!!!!! If you're looking into seeing, acting in, or supporting a Youth Theater... AYT is the BEST CHOICE!!! I've seen many AZ Youth Theaters, and AYT is the ABSOLUTE BEST!!! They've always got GREAT directors, AWESOME costumes and AMAZING actors. They always put on the BEST plays, to EXTREMELY popular ones ("Annie", recently put on in March-ish, "Thouroghly Modern Millie" recently put on in June ect.) and some lesser known ones ("The Butler Did It" in November)AYT is Great I DEFINATELY refer it to anyone looking to act OR observe! :) ............ And like one other has stated, the July 2nd review is FALSE! AYT doesnt favor certain actors... the children who seem to be in all AYT's plays are WONDERFULLY TALENTED actors, and are always auditioning.

Many of the performers are the same from previous casts, that is true. But I believe that this is due to the fact that AYT is still in the establishing stages of its organization. They try to put on the best performances they can with the kids that they've got. As their reputation has grown, so has their cast base. And they truly have some of the best directors and costumers in the valley. Especially considering their limited funds and who knows about them. Give them time. They will be big one day, just you wait!

Their shows are always well done. Not something you'd expect from a youth theatre! They don't do children's plays. I always enjoy the experience. The kids look like they're having fun. And I've seen some of the kids before, but it seems like there are always lots of new kids in each show. Keep up the good work, AYT! I'll keep voting!

As a past performer of this group, my life has changed for the better. It taught me to be myself, give 100%, and just have fun!!! The directors were flexible and when i had scheduling conflicts, we worked it out and had no problems at all. When my school work was lacking, i found friends and parents of my friends who were able to help me succeed in school. The performances are amazing the people are amazing, and to think of all the other lives they've touched is EVEN MORE amazing!!! Please vote for AYT of Mesa. They have earned your vote and your support a million times over. Thanks.

they always have the same kids performing even though they have open auditions there is always the same kids, just check the list for the last few casts and you will see.

Shows are always of the highest caliber, professionally done and just plain fun! Any aspiring actor would be lucky to be able to add a production with AYT to their resume.
