Here is a doll-loving little girl's dream come true. Local little girls love American Girl Place, as do the visiting girls who flock here on week-ends. And why not? This unique store is full of American Girl dolls and paraphernalia - clothes and accessories for the dolls, matching clothes for the girls, and books about the dolls.

The store in Oak Park Mall also offers a Doll Hair Salon where stylists seat doll customers in tiny salon chairs and style their hair while "mommy" watches. No cuts here, but stylists can help shine up a less than fresh dollface, and teach her owner how to replicate a 'do at home. Prices range from $10-$20 for styling.

The store hosts a number of workshops and special programs throughout the year, generally for children ages eight and up. Reservations are required.
