The Americana at Brand opened to much fanfare in 2008, and it is a mall Glendale can get excited about. Like its sister site in West Hollywood,
The Grove,
The Americana creates an outdoor shopping experience which is a cross between a movie set and a shopping center.
The shopping is upscale, with spots that appeal to the younger set like Lucky Kid and
Urban Outfitters. The mall has a
Kids' Club with activities scheduled every Tuesday morning at 11am.
Kiehl's invites kids to stop in for free sunscreen beforehand.
The Pacific Theatres offers
Mommy Movies on Monday mornings at 11am.
Three different restaurants in the
Americana offer
free meals for kids on Tuesdays: the Granville Cafe (11am-4pm), Caffee Primo (all day), and CrepeMaker (11am-3pm).
Added in 2010, the
Americana Trolley Bus (similar to the one that runs at
The Grove) runs weekdays from 11am-2:30pm. It's quick, it's convenient, and kids love the ride.
