Audubon Insectarium, part of the
Audubon Nature Institute, showcases the largest group of animals on the planet: insects!
Kids will go buggy over the
Life Underground exhibit, where they're "shrunk" to insect size. Other highlights include live insect encounters, a Japanese butterfly garden, an animated insect film, and hands-on, interactive programs that illuminate these fascinating creatures.
Want to know how a bug tastes? Pull up a chair in Bug Appetit and brace yourself for a bite of chocolate "chirp" cookies, hors d'oeuvres topped with queen ants or six-legged salsa. The tastings are offered at 10am, daily.
Timed-entry tickets must be purchased in advance and are required for admission.
