The Birmingham Zoo is home to more than 200 species, including birds, reptiles, and mammals. One of the zoo's highlights is its Trails of Africa exhibit, which houses a herd of African bull elephants and other animals in a natural setting. Daily zoo activities include camel rides, pelican feeding, giraffe feedings, wildlife shows, a butterfly encounter, and more. Kids can play in the zoo's fountains from March through October.
The zoo also offers full-day and half-day summer camps for kids going into fourth through eighth grade.
