In the heart of Buffalo's Elmwood Museum District, the
Burchfield-Penney Art Center is dedicated to the art and vision of Charles E. Burchfield and distinguished artists of Buffalo, Niagara, and Western New York. The 84,000 square foot museum, home to 7500 works of art by more than 600 artists, is located on the campus of Buffalo State College.
Guided tours of the
Burchfield Penney are held Saturday afternoons at 1:30pm. Tours are free with museum admission. Docent-led group tours are available for groups of all ages, by appointment.
Art classes at the
Burchfield Penney integrate the Museum's distinct collection of Charles Burchfield's work and the art of Western New York. Emphasizing the creative thinking process and expression, along with skill development, everyone from toddlers to adults can participate in the program's diverse array of classes.
