Through Calleva at National Harbor families can rent (by the hour) canoes, sailboats, kayaks, and bikes at the main National Harbor pier on the weekends.
They can also test their mettle on the new pirate ship ropes course at the corner of American Way and St. George Avenue. The ropes course consists of three areas: A three-story main shipwreck that offers 15 high ropes elements, a platform for low ropes elements, and an amphitheater for group set-up and debrief activities. A clipper ship that offers a platform for additional low ropes elements, and allows participants to practice sail rigging skills as they move about on high ropes elements. And a stand-alone lighthouse that provides the launch platform for a 400-foot zip line as well as a 30-foot rock climbing wall.
