Cave of the Winds showcases a 500-million-year old world of underground geology, wowing kids with tangible evidence of the earth's ever-changing face. Stalactites, stalagmites, and bats are all here, and the dark, damp, limestone chambers are amazing to experience.
The caverns all feature walkways with handrails and lighting throughout. The caves are chilly - bring extra layers for your tours.
To see the cave, visitors must take one of three tours:
~ Educational Discovery Tour: an easy walk led by a knowledgeable guide, lasting about 45 minutes. Best for families with children.
~ Lantern Tour: an experience for the especially brave and curious GeoVenturer, offering exploration via hand-held lanterns. It lasts about 1.5 hours. Children under five are not allowed. Advance ticket purchase is stronly recommended.
~ Eco-Venture Flashlight Tour: Offered evenings only. Guests tour the caverns by flashlight only, and discussion topics focus on environmental themes.
