Originally known as North Waterfront Park, Cesar Chavez Park is comprised of 90 acres, featuring spectacular views, large multi-purpose turf areas, hiking trails, an off-leash dog walking area, picnic areas with grills, and a wildlife sanctuary. Picnic areas are available on a first-come basis; special events open to the public need a rental permit. Cesar Chavez Park is home to the annual Kite Flying Festival, held in July.
getting there:
Chavez Park is located at the Berkeley Marina off Highway 80. Southbound on I-80 west, take University Avenue exit, go right on University Avenue, right on Marina Blvd.
