The Chesapeake Children's Museum strives to create for children an environment of discovery about themselves, the peoples, the technologies, and the ecology of the Chesapeake Bay area. Exhibits both in and outside the museum explore this theme, including live animal exhibits, a ten-foot boat and dock for acting out watermen scenes (complete with props), A seven-foot replica of the human body, art and theater areas, gardens featuring local flora, and nature trails.
