Creative Montessori School was established in Birmingham in 1968. Funded by tuition and gifts, the private school offers a program of academic excellence to the community. The Montessori approach directly addresses the difficult task of helping children develop self-discipline, self-direction, and self-esteem, as well as a love of learning. Parents are brought into a full partnership process, creating an extended community and support system for their parenting responsibilities.

CMS is a private, not-for-profit school administered by a Board of Directors. The school is financed through tuition and gifts. The corporation is a tax exempt, non-profit corporation. Parents, teachers and outsiders may contribute tax deductible gifts to the Scholarship, Equipment, and/or Building Funds.
