Newport Beach's state park
Crystal Cove State Beach is a 2,791-acre stretch of coastal cliffs and a beach front cove between Pacific Coast Highway and the Pacific Ocean full of tide pools and hiking trails. The Pelican Hill Golf Club and the
Pelican Hill Resort occupy the cliffs above, and an underwater park is just offshore for snorkelers and divers.
Parking is not at the beach but back at the park office, with a shuttle taking visitors down to the shore. Campers are welcome at two loops of rustic campsites accessible only by foot.
The
Beachcomber Cafe is a great spot to grab a bite and offers terrific breakfast with an unbeatable view.
