Culkin School of Traditional Irish Dance050

The main mission of the Culkin School of Traditional Irish Dance is to pass on the tradition of Irish dance by teaching the basics of dance and the music to which it is danced. A secondary goal of the school is to share Irish music and dance with the DC and Baltimore area community by participating in a variety of local events and performances.

Competition is not the main focus, but students are prepared to compete so that if they choose to, they can do so to the best of their ability. There are also many opportunities for dancers to utilize the skills they have learned by participating in ceilis and/or performances scheduled throughout the year. Classes are offered from beginner through championship level starting at age three. Classes for adults of all skill levels are also available.
