A really charming place for out-of-town guests and a delightful slice of old Hollywood, the Culver Hotel is right on the heart of downtown Culver City. The rooms are not huge or modern, but they are beautifully and lovingly decorated, and each has a its own theme. Guests can request a room once occupied by Clark Gable, John Wayne, or the Munchkins while filming The Wizard of Oz (they apparently slept three to a bed).
Built in 1924, when the studios of the area were first taking off, the hotel maintains the charm of those days, the piano bar with crooners several times a week, and the Art Deco decor of LA's glory days. There are not specific amenities for children, but film buffs will be in heaven.
Continental breakfast is served in the hotel restaurant, and Culver City's many restaurants and shops are only a stone's throw from the front door.
