Downtown Bethesda, which includes the Woodmont Triangle and Bethesda Center areas, is home to numerous restaurants, stores, arts organizations, and theaters, as well as the location of such annual festivals as the Bethesda Literary Festival, Imagination Bethesda, Taste of Bethesda, and Winter Wonderland.

Veteran's Park, a small park at the intersection of Norfolk and Woodmont Avenues, features a memorial to Bethesda's veterans, a small fountain, and numerous chairs and tables. It hosts the Bethesda Farmer's Market on Tuesdays and Saturdays from May through October, outdoor concerts in the summer, and activities during many of the area's special events.
