Eastside Westside Music Together offers Music Together, an international, research-based music program for babies, toddlers, preschoolers, and the grown-ups who love them. Weekly classes foster natural, family-style learning where younger children enjoy watching and imitating older ones while older children learn by leading younger ones. All children in the family, from infants to four year olds, can go to class together.
Teachers, trained in developmentally appropriate practice, guide kids through a buffet of music experiences using a curriculum based on a rich variety of songs and chants from all over the world. Moms, dads, grandparents, and other caregivers are encouraged to participate in the live, community music-making experience.
Each of the nine-song collections contains traditional and original songs recorded by a talented ensemble of singers and musicians of all ages, using such acoustical instrumentation as harmonica, piano, saxophone, and cello. Each semester, families take home two new CDs and a songbook of Music Together's award winning music.
Classes are held at various locations on the Upper East and Upper West Sides of Manhattan. Visit the website for a complete list of locations, class schedules, and further information.
