My daughter, 4, is a very distracted child, so I was nervous about putting her in a dance class, but this has been a wonderful experience to say the least! Alene is as sweet as can be, making each child feel special and included, and the way the class is structured, makes it almost impossible for the kids to get bored...even while waiting for their turns to practice the new technique they have learned, they are still giggling and having a great time...no so in other traditional ballet classes, where my little giggly girl would not have fit in! I love how they first learn the techniques as a group, have individual practice activities, have a fairytale read to them, then get to dress up as the main character in a beautiful and fun costume, acting out the story as they also use the technique that they just learned...such a magical and imaginative time! My daughter has a wonderful time and looks forward to going each class. These magical memories will last a lifetime! I highly recommend Fairytales and Tutus!

As a dad of 2 (girl 4 boy 6) , I gotta say- this just isn't the place for boys. The 'costume' for my son was usually badly created out of fuzzy cloth or there was just a hat or something equally lame when compared to the cute girl stuff. Plus... Dad's you should know the place is floor to ceiling pink - great for girls but not much for boys. And it isn't what you're thinking - I had no beef with my boy in dance - plenty of athletes use dance as a tool and being an athlete myself, I knew the physical side with the agility and strength would be a great skill to have so no problem there but surrounded by girls and left out when it came to costume time, well, that was no good. Last year we thought things were improving for boys. Signed my son up for the new hip-hop class... My son LOVED Mr. Drew (I even bragged about him to my work buddies - a very cool guy and nice role model for boys in dance). Even when Miss Louisa had to take over he enjoyed the class but I guess the setting was wrong because they cancelled the class. We had hope of staying for my girl but you parents know how it goes - running 2 places for dance just got to be too much. Its a shame they don't have more for boys so now we go to a studio where there is a better balance. Since plenty of people have said its nice for girls, I gotta stick up as a dad and say it may be a 5star for girls but its a 1 for boys.

My children love Fairytales and Tutus. It's great for young girls to get exposed to ballet and dance through art, music, and story. We love it!

My 4 year old LOVES Fairytales and Tutus. My 2 (soon to be 3) year old and I stay and watch her sister dance every week, and now my youngest is SO excited to begin classes with her sister. This is the stuff of every little girl's dreams. I love that it engages the minds of the little ones. They teach a love for reading (a fairytale story each week), dress up (to coordinate with the story) and free, creative dance after routine stretches and professional training (complete with official terminology)! I am thoroughly impressed with Miss Alene's vision for teaching dance. The kids are having so much fun they don't even know they're learning! The staff are wonderful with the children, and Miss Alene has been very accommodating to our family's needs. Thank you for envisioning such a magical way to instill a lifelong love of dance to small children!

I heard there were some heated posts on this site about Fairy Tales and Tutus. I have a lot of positive feelings and experiences about this dance studio, so despite the fact that I never write posts like this, I felt I should share. I went back and read a few posts, and was so unhappy with the anger, I stopped. I am a "real" mom, with two "real" kids who attend dance at Fairy Tales and Tutus. I am not related in any way to this administration - I just take my kids ther. Here is my honest, uninfluenced experience. My daughter started dancing at another studio when she was four. We loved the teacher and she loved dancing. In our second year, at her dance recital, my husband was sitting next to me, leaned over and asked if the costume my four year old daughter was wearing was a burlesque outfit. I looked at her up on stage again, and realized that yes, it was. The dance moves and music and costumes were too much for us - unfitting and inappropriate for such a young daughter, in our opinion. I started looking for another studio, one more child friendly. Someone told me about Fairy Tales and Tutus. I called, was offered a trial class, and we came. I found a studio that truly was child friendly - both for girls and boys. The music is appropriate for the age of the child, the dance is beautiful - teaching the kids not only ballet, but grace and creative movement. One of my favorite things is the modeled free dance at the end when kids are encouraged to make up their own movements to the music, while watching the instructor do the same. They have loved the costumes - so amazing, intricate, and beautiful. And the props -from huge silk fabric moved like waves, to glowing hand lanterns for Tinker Bell's story - it really is magical! I have never noticed them to be dirty - they are lovely. We have been now attending class there for three years, and my second daughter also dances there. They both love it. My now 7 year old has grown so much. She is no longer in the Fairytale Ballet, but in Primary Ballet. The teacher is incredibly professional. My younger daughter is still in Fairytale Ballet. I am there two hours a week. The staff is always nice and seems to go out of their way to help people. I watch them interact with families every week for two hours! I know other people have spoken of administrative problems, but I have never had problems with my payments not being recorded - not once in three years. They offer a sibling discount, which I appreciate a lot. The studio is not, in my opinion, any cleaner or dirtier than any other studio or business I have been in. Before reading these posts, I have never noticed it to be a dirty environment. I see the staff cleaning the windows frequently. The studio started a "no shoe" in the dance area last year, which I like a lot. In my daughter's former studio, kids would come in with shoes and the floors were often slippery. I haven't seen that problem here at all, and now even parents who go into the studio take off their shoes. I haven't had all of the teachers, but the ones we have had have been so wonderful. They are excellent managers of the kid's behavior, keep the class interesting, keep them laughing and loving it. Both of my daughters have always just loved their teachers, and they have always felt loved by them. They make a special effort to talk to my very shy child, something I deeply appreciate. I am not a dancer, but many of these teachers are professional dancers, and I know that my kids are learning a whole lot - both movement and terminology. Because I have been at the studio for three years, I do know Alene. I have spoken to her at the studio - why? Not because I am social (I too am rather shy), not because I am an "insider", but because she is there, out talking to parents, interacting, checking on things. I have never known an owner to purposely come out to interact with parents like she does. She truly is being misrepresented. From all of my interactions with her, I have found her to be very kind hearted, down to earth, honest, a mother herself, someone who cares deeply for kids and families, is sincere, and wants the best for kids, families, and her business. I believe she loves this business, devotes and sacrifices a lot for it, and does so because she believes in what it brings to the lives of kids - like mine. She wants kids to feel special and like a prince or princess themselves when they are in this studio. She is always talking about ways to improve because she loves what she is doing. I truly am sad that someone, or maybe a few, have had a bad experience. I can't speak to that, but it sure surprises me! I believe you will always find critics - even the most fabulous and famous restaurants, shows, doctors, etc. will have critics. So, there are some pretty vocal critics on this posting. However, I believe the majority of the kids and families who attend here would not share those thoughts. I am writing this because I feel this studio is being misportrayed. If you are reading this because you are looking for a fun, unique, very special dance experience for your child, please do not be afraid of this studio. It has been so wonderful for my children and family.

1 1/2 years ago, my daughters were invited to a birthday party here, and I was glad we went! My 3 daughters have been going every since! This is the BEST place for a little girl to be! Not only does she hear an amazing story, but she gets to dress up as the main character and act out the story using the ballet techniques that were taught in the class! How clever! We've been to many ballet classes in the past 6 years, but there is nothing that compares to Fairytales and Tutus! I know that when my children look back on their childhood, they will say that learning ballet at Fairytales and Tutus is their favorite memory! Thank you Miss Alene and to your wonderful staff for making many children very happy! You will not regret bringing your child to this magical and enchanting studio!!

A year and a half ago, my daughters were invited to a birthday party here, and I was so glad that we went! My three daughters have been going ever since! I have taken them to ballet for 6 years in 3 different states (I am former military and we move a lot!) and have NEVER seen any program for ballet or little girls that compare. This is every girls' dream come true! Not only can they hear amazing stories, but they get to dress up as the main character and act out the story using ballet techniques and custom props! They are learning ballet and don't even know it! This is the PERFECT place for your little girl to develop a love and foundation for ballet and the arts. Thank you Miss Alene and all the wonderful teachers for creating memories with my children. I know that when they look back on their childhood, Fairytales and Tutus will be one of their best memories! Do you know what else is neat? Fairytales and Tutus is bringing a smile to dozens of happy little girls everyday...not just mine:) Ignore all the bad reviews. You will never regret bringing your child to this magical and enchanted place:)

We have been loyal attenders here for a long while - recently (when all this hoopla started I guess) the Owner, Miss Alene, asked me an lots of other parents to come give good reviews to counter bad ones. (so FYI - the good ones here were probably requested). I liked the place even though its not always clean. I came to read the bad reviews for myself and was bummed out to see that the information about the costumes not being washed. I knew the place wasn't spic and span but the thing that kinda got to me was when we were at a party not to far back and the teacher had to go in the bathroom to get water for the lemonade - that kinda grossed me out. I was just going to make sure we never went to a tea party again but then was asked to come write a review... that really didn't sit well with me - I felt weird being asked to give kind of a fake review just to boost ratings when a lot of what was said by the reviewers was the same stuff I was concerned about. Then I read the post here about the owner's husband posting and I asked my friend who knows Alene better if it was true he posted and she confirmed that she heard it was :( sad that they were more concerned with star ratings than service - I had thought better of this cute place. Last straw for me was this past week, the nice new lady in the office handed my hubby an invoice for classes I already paid for! And I paid Miss Alene the owner!! He didn't know and paid it so now we have to work out a refund because the office DID NOT KNOW we paid! That's when I realized these bad reviews they got WERE because people had a bad time - Miss Alene didn't even enter my payment in her records so I got billed again - the books are as big a mess as the building. If you come here, your little girl will probably love it but take it from me - keep good records cause you may need to prove you paid and skip the drinks made in the bathroom sink!

My daughter absolutely loves attending her Fairytale ballet classes and asks me several times during the week if it's the day she goes back. Amazing Program! My 4 year old daughter loves her class and looks forward to going each week. I am also very happy with the studio. I recommend it!

Miss Alene the biggest problem here is not debate, it is honesty... Some people were honest about their negative experiences and rather than let them have their say people who are "very familiar" with you beat them down to the point where those of us who also had poor experiences had to speak up and let parents know it wasn't a one case deal. And here is what your post doesn't say- it doesn't sat that Ousia014 is NOT your husband... It would be a stunning coincidence for those facts I shared here to be mere chance don't you think? Also you say "her or his" defense - are we to believe that this "very familiar" person spent all this time defending you and you have no clue who it is? Not even the gender? Really now... That's just a lil to convenient for me... I think that dog just won't hunt. So, like I said it all rests on honesty. Nevada is a community property state so if that is your husband, as I think the dancing around the issue combined with the other evidence indicates that it is, then even if you are a sole proprietor, according to state law- 'you' is a y'all and he owns the business too and therefore would be in violation of the posting guide and would be very much affiliated with your business. P.S I think an apology should have been included to those of us who have had our children picked on and been called OCD, 'those moms', liars, and all manner of other things... That might have been better than praising the name-callers. Now my negative experience has been two-fold - first in person at your business and now online... And by the way parents, every studio offers a free trial class, don't be fooled into thinking that is unique!

Hi. My name is Alene. I am the owner and director of Fairytales and Tutus. It has come to my attention that a rather heated debate has taken place on this site about my business. Upon reading the User Guidelines, I discovered that so long as I identify myself, I can respond to comments made here. So, that is the purpose of this post.

First, I want to apologize to any customers for any negative experience they may have had at Fairytales and Tutus. My dream and goal for my business is to make it a magical place for children to begin to learn classical ballet in a way that instills in them a love for it for their entire lives. It is also my desire to have parents find it a magical place as well. So, it truly saddens me to learn that a few people have had such negative experiences.

We are regularly striving to improve the quality of our studio and our classes. This past year we have put in a new floor, put up a wall in studio A, and tiled the floor in the front bathroom. I wish to thank you for being patient with us as we've made these improvements. It has also been exciting to add several new stories this year! We offer close to 40 stories that we rotate throughout the year. No story is repeated in a year during classes. This makes each story fresh and new for our little ballerinas each year.

We have also recently hired new and qualified teachers and office staff to accommodate our amazing growth. After just two years, we have grown from just over 20 students to over 250 students! I am very pleased that so many families have found our studio to be a special place for their children.

Also, we are continually striving to keep our studio clean, our handmade costumes clean, and our office running smoothly. I apologize to anyone who has had trouble on the administrative side of our business. We are a young business, and have had a lot to learn along the way. We now have systems in place to make the administrative aspects run more smoothly.

I hope that when customers have questions or issues, they'll bring them straight to me. At Fairytales and Tutus, we welcome comments and suggestions, and we're better able to respond if concerns are brought directly to us.

We believe so strongly in our studio that we offer to any new family the opportunity to come try a class for free! They can decide for themselves whether our studio is the magical place for them!

P.S., I also want to say that I am not the user Ousia014, and nor is that person partial owner of this business, and nor is that person affiliated with Fairytales and Tutus. However, I appreciate her or his defense of my business.

Well... now let us just have a look at a few things Mr. Ousia014...

First, let us start by assuming that I am not a liar or a fool.

We did participate in Cinderella at this studio over 6 times - 3+ of those times were at Birthdays and I did not hold the studio accountable for this. Did you see me say that the story appeared 6 times in the regular class? You most certainly did not. We had the story in camp TWICE (separate years) and it was EXACTLY the same - my daughter even brought home the same blue box craft!

Now, let us examine the "All New Stories" that is largely posted at this very moment on your site - I know for a fact because we still have friends that attend that the studio recently did Princess Jasmine... guess what we did last year - yes sir, you betcha, it was Jasmine! So "All New" I think, might be a little of "embellishing" as you have accused others of doing.

Some stories DO repeat more that once a year if you attend camps and especially if you attend Birthday parties - so it is not inconceivable for us to have done a story 6 times - enough for my child to be a little bored with it.

As for the technique... How dare you imply that my child was confused?? And then call me a liar for God and everyone to see?? Well, now we have some things to discuss - we don't take accusations like that lightly where I come from so you are now gonna see my response.

My child was not confused - she executed a lifted arabesque to the best of her fiver year old abilities - it was a wobbly mess I don't mind saying. It was a mess because that is a step for an 8 year old to START learning... Now I don't know what ABT teaches but I have friends who have assured me that Pirouettes and lifted Arabesque are not on the bill for 5 year olds.

Now about the terminology - ballet has a wide range of step names and methods and there is a lot of variation in the styles but NONE of them list a step such as Bourree if they are in parallel - a term I myself (not my unconfused child) heard Miss Alene use when she subbed our class. If she had said 'tip toe walk' I might not have had a problem but she was using a ballet term that was close to the movement she was teaching but was not actually the step! And there is a DIFFERENCE between Retiree and Passe - now most parents wouldn't care or notice but I wasn't most parents. I have a dance education and I don't think its too much to ask that my child's dance teacher use either correct terminology or non terminology descriptive words like 'tip toe' and 'twirl'.

As for what's being taught - even the parents here giving glowing reviews say their kids are learning Pirouettes! And the website lists a string of steps including Echappes and Emboites - you show me the accredited curriculum that approves these steps for children under 5! If you have 5 year olds that can do these steps well, you best get out the camera because that is the next viral youtube video for certain sure!

So with my lifelong education in dance, college degree in dance, and professional experience in dance, I made the educated decision to prevent my daughter from mis-learning terms and picking up sloppy technique. Now you said yourself I have the right to my opinion and that is what it is - my opinion is flavored with years of experience in dance so if your trying to tell me I don't know my p's from my q's when it comes to dance you're barkin up the wrong tree!

And one last thing... maybe you shouldn't have been so quick to call me a liar... My momma always said those in glass houses shouldn't throw stones...

Let us assume that I have a brain and Google - and I and any anyone else can clearly see with just a little searching that the author of most of the posts on fairytalesandtutus.com is ALSO named Ousia... interesting, don't you think?

Let me take it a step further... unfortunately for you, my uncle was a Philosophy professor - something that came up in conversation when I asked Miss Alene (the owner) what her Husband did... He teaches Philosophy she replied - we chatted for a while since I had many a discussion growing up with my uncle who lived in the house across the way from ours. I even remember him explaining that the term Ousia comes from a greek term and philosophers use it to describe certain things.

All that being said, I think you may have dug yourself a hole here cause I believe all these other people will come to my same conclusion that you are not just "Very Familiar" with Miss Alene, you are probably her Husband who teaches philosophy and puts up the cute website... Get me a magnifying glass - I feel like Sherlock Holmes!

That would make you a part owner, would it not? And put your post in violation of the guidelines that say not to review a business you are affiliated with, would it not? Here you are telling everyone how great it is like you are just a mere fan... protesting at the top of your digital lungs - was it Shakespeare who said "me thinks the lady doth protest to much" ?

I do apologize for misleading you into thinking I was a lying fool who would just sit by and be slurred online... and I'm sorry about blowin' your cover and all. Sometimes that's just how the cookie crumbles...

I will put it in simple terms - the post was the TRUTH and nothing but - that's how it went down people - I am NOT "embellishing quite a bit" - and I didn't say she refused, I said she told me she had to have the office staff do it for her cause apparently she can't handle it!!!!!!!!!!!!! ALSO - if you had READ the post instead of jumping to conclusions you might have noticed the NEW STAFF was PART of the Problem - our teacher said it was her FIRST WEEK TEACHING THERE!!!!!

There are TONS of cute classes WITHOUT the bad service - if she is to "overwhelmed" to give me good service then she will be overwhelmed with other people too!!! MY advice is still to PAY LESS!!! My daughter is now in a GREAT class at Summerlin Dance with a WONDERFUL teacher (Miss Laurie - she is the BEST with the kids) and the OWNER (Jeremy) ALWAYS RETURNS CALLS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

SERIOUSLY- these people have time to corral their buddies into giving sugar coated reviews (or doing it themselves) but the don't have time to return a CALL????????

GIVE YOUR BUSINESS TO PEOPLE WHO TREAT YOU LIKE THEY WANT IT!!!!!!! GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!!!!!!!!!!

My daughter has been going to F and T for almost 2 years and absolutely loves it....we have tried 2 other ballet studios prior to that and nothing compared to the magic and creativity that the studio offers...being an ex-pro dancer myself,,I highly recommend this ballet program...I wish I had something like this growing up...I will be sad to see my daughter outgrow the program but at least she will have fond memories of her childhood.....who cares about a few dust bunnies ......that is not what she will remember........Thank you Fairytales and Tutus.

Again, Fairytales and Tutus is a great place. I recommend it to any mom with small children.

But, of course not all agree. And, each have their own opinion.

However, I must address three things mentioned by DiDiBelle. First, She is flat out lying when she says Cinderella was repeated 6 times. I have been here since the first location, and Cinderella has NEVER been repeated 6 times. It is repeated once per year. Now, perhaps DiDiBelleâ??s child also got Cinderella at a B-Day party, but there is no way it was 6 times! The same for other stories.

Second, as for cleanliness, it is true that the place gets dusty and bugs get in. But, please, I beg you, find me a place where this is not true in Vegas. The studio is for the most part clean. But, if a little dirty bothers you to the point of depriving your child of a wonderful experience, don't go.

It is also a mistake to say that classical ballet is not being taught, or that incorrect terminology is. Now perhaps DiDiBelle's child got confused. But, it does not follow that classical ballet is not being taught or that incorrect terminology is.

Yes, DiDiBelle is correct, each person is free to post their opinions, and they should not be named called for it. But, please do not lie about the place just because you had a bad experience!

Now look... we were here a while back and we had a bad experience - now I don't usually post on these things but I feel I have to defend some of these other moms... I can hear what they are saying because I've been there...


Lets talk clean - I am not "OCD" and I an not one of "Those Moms" - but when my child leaves a place and her tights and leotard are black and no longer the pink I purchased, I'm gonna be a little annoyed. When my friend's son cries "look a bug!!!" with glee and captures a giant cricket coming from behind the curtain I'm not going to share his joy - I'm gonna think - 'is that the same place their getting out the tea party dishes???' (and it was by the way, from behind that same curtain where the tea cam out for our party!) And finally, I asked once how they clean the costumes and as one mom here noted - they really don't - the teacher looked at me like I was askin how to get to the moon and then said "I think the owner handles that" in other words - our adorable teacher who worke there every week never saw costumes put in a washer or brought back from a cleaner - if she had she would have just said so...


Does that make me OCD - I think not, but I ask all you moms who are jumping to defense - don't I have the right to want the things that are being put on several classes full of kids to be cleaned every now and then? Is it too much to ask that there not be large bugs at my $200 birthday party? Should I not be annoyed that my child's clothes are black with dirt from the floor?? That isn't OCD on my part, it is a pattern on the part of the business. So before you jump all over those of us who aren't gushing hearts and butterflies on this place, how bout you take a deep breath and walk a spell in my shoes?


Now, lets talk service - Over the course of the year we went here, I was given 3 invoices all of which I had already paid - I was told each time 'well it wasn't in the computer' - Now, I am a patient woman and my momma taught me to give people the benefit of the doubt, but I was never believed here until I brought in my bank statement to show... not a shining experience for me. Plus, we once had to back out of camp for personal reasons, we had already paid and they said they would give us a credit which we appreciated. Come the next session, there is no record of my credit and once again, I have to be the one to fill in the gaps in their records by producing my bank statement. Now, Miss Alene wasn't rude per-se but it wasn't easy to do business either. Maybe she is better with those of you who are obviously her friends and know her and are "VERY familiar" with her... I guess I wasn't in the 'in crowd' - shucks!


Now, lets talk Ballet - I'm a dancer myself, studied all through growing up with an RAD certified instructor, went to Indiana for my dance degree and then danced in NYC and now here in Las Vegas. I won't claim to be an expert but I say that so as not to be so readily discredited by the fan club here... Like I said, we were here for a year - my kids loved their classes but after a year of letting the cleaning stuff slide and the business stuff slide, we finally left because they just weren't learning... because of the dress up - the 45 minute class for over $15/class is really only 20-25 min of instruction... I can get an hour of instruction for $9 around the corner at Kids in Motion... Aside from that - a pirouette takes TIME to learn well, a lifted arabesque needs CONTROL first - it isn't a step I felt my 5 year old should be doing yet... lets get 1st position and a clean passe first shall we? Plus some of the terminology they were coming home with was just WRONG - and that made me question my $15 per class.


Another thing... they advertise "new stories" all the time but we did Cinderella about 6 times in the year we were there... and they say "we always have a boy part" but my friend's son (the bug finder) would get a lousy pair of ears compared to the full dress the girls got... that's not really a boy's costume - its just ears.


Now, to all you who are chomping at the bit here to discredit these other moms I say this - we all have our own experiances, we share them here to help other people make informed decisions - it isn't about sugar coating the reviews - its about what REALLY happened - this is what happened with me. I'm glad there are those who enjoy this place but don't tell people to write off anything bad that's said - just give your honest review and let others give theirs... I mean really - If someone heard something or experienced something here they aren't lying to people, their sharing their opinion, to which we are all entitled. Let's let them have their say... I know its ruff to hear people don't like your friend but don't accuse them of being bad people for it - don't call them naysayers and 'those' people and OCD - just let them have their say and let new people decide for themselves who to believe.

I read some of the other reviews, and seriously have no idea what they are talking about. They are either OCD about cleanliness or one of "those" parents who are never pleased with anything.

In my own experience, this is THE ballet studio to take your little girl. I have been a big fan ever since they were in the their old location. The new place is clean and spacious with 2 larger studios instead of 1 small one. Little girls walk into the studio through a tiny little "magic" door, just their size, and the lobby is painted in a fairytale scene. The teachers, in my experience, are attentive and very caring about each child.

Miss Alene is the mastermind behind this storm of creativity, and she is one of the sweetest, most genuinely caring people I have ever met. She is American Ballet Theater certified, as are several of the other teachers. They teach classical ballet techniques in every class.

The class starts with stretching exercises, then they do floor exercises (pirouettes, going on demi pointe, etc). After that, the story is read (depending on the theme that week, and it is a different fairy tale each week). The girls gather around the teacher to hear the story. Then they dress up in these pristine and delicate costumes (they keep them fantastic condition), and dance around reenacting scenes from the fairy tale and implementing the techniques they learned in the first half of the class.

This past year we also held my 4 year old's birthday party there, and it was a hit amongst all the little girls. We got some fabulous pictures, and Alice in Wonderland made an appearance, which had all the girls gaping in awe and amazement! I have to say, it was truly magical, and I am so glad I decided to have it there.

You owe it to yourself and to your daughter to give it a try, it is totally worth every penny!

Fairytales and Tutus is a wonderful place! My daughter absolutely loves it, and always looks forward to going! The teachers are all experienced and the owner is wonderful. At least this has been my experience, as well as the experience of mothers I have talked with.

So, I have to STRONGLY disagree with musicmom77. While I am not familiar with a conversation she may have had on the phone with Alene, I am VERY familiar with Alene (the owner). She is always very kind, competent, and willing to work with parents. Given what I know about Alene, I would guess that musicmom77 is embellishing quite a bit. I cannot imagine Alene being unwilling to refund a dissatisfied parent. She is a wonderful person with a great big heart! I also know that the studio has rapidly grown lately, and Alene has been overwhelmed. I was talking with her recently and she has hired new staff. The studio is now running more smoothly. Perhaps musicmom77's unfortunate experience occurred during the time before Alene hired new staff.

But, please do NOT heed musicmom77's advice to take your child elsewhere! You will be depriving her of a wonderful and unique experience, and amazing atmosphere to learn ballet. Do yourself and your child a favor... DO take her to Fairytales and Tutus.

HORRIBLE customer service... we enrolled my daughter here because it looked so cute and had good reviews. My daughter didn't like the class though - I think it was to disorganized for her - she fixates on small things easily and needs a VERY structured class, so unfortunately a bad match.

We called and politely asked for a refund only to be told 'sorry, no refunds' - I explained we had only taken ONE CLASS and it didn't work for us. They suggested we try another class with a different teacher, so we came back and this was worse than before - The teacher had no idea what to do and seemed confused when it came to the second half where they dress up. She kept taking long pauses to read a paper and mess with the CD player. Meanwhile the kids are totally distracted. When I asked her about it after the class she apologized very nicely and said it was her first week teaching!!! WHAT??? I was told on the phone that ALL the teachers were "specially trained to work with this age" not newbies who never taught!!!

So I called again and said 'look, we tried it twice, it doesn't work for us, NOW can we have a refund' - the nice lady on the phone Miss Robin I think, (different that the first rude one) politely explains they pro-rate refunds up till the 3rd week but the owner, Miss Arlene has to approve it and she will have her call me - great! right? noooooo!!!!

I wait 3 days - no call. I call back and leave a message - wait again till monday (its now the '3rd week') so I call AGAIN... The owner answers and I explain she says AND I QUOTE... "Oh I saw that but I just haven't had time to call" ARE YOU KIDDING??? I'm sorry my money is such an bother for you! So I just ask for my refund and she proceeds to tell me that she has to wait till Miss Robin comes is to pull up my payment history!!!! WHAT the F????? 'I thought you were the owner?' I say - 'I am but I need to get your information first and I don't usually work the computer, I'm sorry - I'll leave a note here for Robin to do it'

Well I'm sorry too lady - I will be telling everyone I know that the owner here is too busy for good customer service!!! I wish I was like these other moms who can post a good review but at the risk of being a 'naysayer' my experience here was the pits!!! I'll probably never get back the $$ I spent on these overpriced, undermanned, disorganized classes!!!

Do yourself a favor a go elsewhere!

We love this place. Despite what the naysayers have posted, the studio is amazing. It's not high tech & modern, but it is a lovely, clean & supportive place for toddlers to explore their imaginations. The teachers are very caring and attentive, making sure each child has a special experience at every visit. My daughter wakes up every single day and asks me if today is ballet day. She smiles from ear to ear the entire time she is there.

Not recommended - overpriced and disorganized... Our class CONSISTANTLY ended 10-15 min LATE supposed to be 45 min but always goes over which means we are stuck in crowded waiting room with the 10 little girls from the next class all waiting to go in... and there always seems to be a scramble to get everything together... The mural is cute and the dress ups are cute but not cute enough to out weigh the price and the time issues...

This is a wonderful ballet studio-perfect for toddlers! My daughter and I attend the mommy & me classes and i have to say that some of my fondest memories of my daughter have taken place in that studio! The studio is small but it is not as dirty as some post make it out to be. the waiting room has a beautiful mural and cute painted table with chairs and some books. The doors to the classes have a mini pink door cut into them that little girls LOVE walking in and out of. The class itself incorporates creative ways to get your little girl stretching (which always ends in giggles!) and their is storytime followed by dressing up in related costumes: ponies,fairies etc. My daughter loves the dress up aspect! This class is always moving and easily keeps toddlers attention. Do not deprive your daughter of such an awesome experience because you don't like the 'dust bunnies' in the corner.

A little torn here... It's cute but as others have said, just a so-so facility. We were at a birthday, which was sweet and the kids had fun but the place was very dirty. Big dust bunnies on the floors and a months worth of handprints on the windows and mirrors. Teacher was adorable but just too dirty for us to come full time.

While at this business I heard a staff member comment that they NEVER clean the costumes! That's right folks- little Suzie can dress up and share germs with 200 of her closest friends... yuk!

We are out of town visitors who are in Vegas for the summer. We saw a review online about Fairytales and Tutus and decided to sign up our 4 year old for ballet classes. Immediately, after her first class, she asked to go again. She had so much fun that she didn't want to go home Now we've enrolled her in ballet previously, but she had never been as enthusiastic as she has been with F & T classes. The program is designed to show off the magic of dance!! The classes are "sets" unto themselves and the girls are taught the fundamentals of ballet through role-playing characters from favorite stories, complemented by props & costumes (my daughter has danced as Minnie Mouse and as My Favorite Pony)! This program is so unique and the instructors are so fabulous and patient with the children. We love it so much we are squeezing in a 4 day ballet camp, appropriately themed "Dancing in Fairyland" before we go! We've never seen a ballet program like this and can't help but think all else will pale in comparison after Fairytales & Tutus. Las Vegas is very lucky!

Fairytales and Tutus is so much more than a dance studio, it is a place for children to learn body awareness, develop self esteem, and have a lot of fun! My five-year-old daughter is not the height or weight of the average five year old, which sometimes makes her feel out of place. But she feels great about herself and her abilities when she is in her costume with the rest of the kids in her dance class. Alene's attention and foresight to the little things, like costume sizing, and Louisa's kind and loving teaching style have created an environment that allows my little one to shine, shine, SHINE! Thank you so much for offering this amazing program; we are truly blessed.

Simply an amazingly different dance school for children! My daughter loves the class and looks forward to every lesson. Her other dance school was "boring" and didn't hold her attention the way that Fairytales and tutus does. She has had two instructors at Fairytales and both are really wonderful! We went to a fun birthday party there and then decided to try a ballet class and then we made the switch and no regrets whatsoever....I'd recommend to anyone.

My daughter had her 4th birthday party there " The nutcracker theme" and it was a magical event which is still a talk among parents. The teachers were amazing and they were very attentive to the childrens every need. The tea party was delicious and very well organized,the kids had a fantastic time.

My daughter attends class there regularly and is growing in leaps and bounds as a dancer .The stories and costumes are so wonderful, attention to every little detail is one of the things that makes Fairytales and Tutus so wonderful

The facility is pretty pathetic and mediocre. I didn't expect to see the dance instructor with love handles spilling over her tutu and ignoring the smallest child repeatedly during a birthday event. I expected a fairytale dance studio but got a dingy sub-par experience.

Amazing! My daughter is 4 years old and loves this class.

This is an amazing fairytale class (we are in the mommy and me class), and not only does Miss Alene incorporate stories, adorable little costumes, and props, but she also teaches the foundations of classical ballet in a way that toddlers can easily understand. I highly recommend this dance studio for children.

This is a great program to expand a child's imagination and learn the disclipline of the arts.
