Fallingwater,
a house designed by architect Frank Lloyd Wright, was built over a waterfall between 1936 and 1939 for the Kaufmann family. The home became instantly famous and is now a National Historic Landmark.
Self-guided grounds tours allow visitors to view
Fallingwater from the outside. Access to the inside of the house is available only a guided tour. Guided tours discuss the house, Frank Lloyd Wright's architecture, and the integration of the house with its beautiful natural surroundings. All tours through
Fallingwater are led by professional interpreters.
Children must be at least six years of age to accompany adults on the regular tour of
Fallingwater and nine years of age for special tours. A
Family Room is available for use by those visiting with young children and Family Fun activities are offered to enhance visits with young children.
Fallingwater and
Kentuck Knob - located just six miles apart - are the only private homes in Pennsylvania that were designed by Frank Lloyd Wright.
Kentuck Knob tour reservations are taken by Fallingwater's Visitor Services departments. Tickets are non-refundable and are not interchangeable with Fallingwater tickets.
