about Fort Osage National Historic Landmark:
Overlooking the Missouri River, the historic reconstructed fort portrays Fort Osage as it was in 1812, while the Fort Osage Education Center helps interpret life at the fort through interactive exhibits on geology, local flora and fauna of the early 19th century, Lewis and Clark, the Hopewell and Osage Indians, and more.
Various programs and reenactments are also held at the fort throughout the year.
Sibley is on the Missouri River, 14 miles northeast of Independence.
