Staten Island gets into the Halloween spirit in a big way, and we've got a got growing list (check back often!) of free and inexpensive Halloween kids' events and activities!
Saturday, October 23
1pm:
Kids ages eight and up and their families choose a favorite pumpkin at the Greenbelt Nature Center and learn the finer points of carving and decorating ghoulish gourds during a Pumpkin Carving Workshop (Members $7; Non-members $8; pumpkin and carving tool to take home included).
Friday, October 29
3:30pm-5pm:
Families are invited to trick-or-treat through Historic Richmond Town, and enjoy Halloween games, crafts, apple-bobbing, and more (Adults $3; Children $8).
Saturday, October 30:
12n-4pm:
The Staten Island Children's Museum's annual Not Too Scary Halloween Party includes Halloween activities for everyone, a Halloween parade, thriller dancing, tricks & treats, and more. Costumes encouraged!
1pm-3pm:
The Greenbelt Nature Center is a natural place for a safe Halloween Spirit Celebration for kids. ($8; Members $7).
Sunday, October 31
1pm-4pm:
Wagner College's fourth annual Halloween House, a free haunted house in the college's historic Main Hall, includes ghost-themed rooms, a "haunted" basement, cookie decorating, arts and crafts, and plenty of tricks and treats. Costumes are encouraged for all. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
