The brain child of entrepreneurial parents of a picky eater, Giggles 'n' Hugs is a true family restaurant on the Westside with a fully decked out play area. The menu is a combination of sandwiches, salads, pizzas, pastas, and breakfast items; and virtually everything can be prepared in a kid-sized portion for $6-$7. The food is predominantly organic, and kids can dine in style with cutlery and plates in their style, fun (but not overpowering) music, and cute murals on all the walls.

One of the chef's menu specialties is Mom's Tricky Treat - an option to puree veggies into just about anything. Kids who only eat mac and cheese need never know that cauliflower and squash were slipped into the sauce, and that cheese pizza might taste even better with a secret spinach infusion. Apart from the many ways to eat pasta and chicken tenders, there are some very tasty options for adults, too; we were delighted with the Chinese Chicken Salad, and then took guilty pleasure in finishing off a kids' portion of Snow White Fettuccine.

The play area requires a separate entrance fee and includes a climb-all-over pirate ship, an arts and crafts table, and a toddler play castle. Kid Aids monitor the action and play along, allowing mom and dad to finish a cup of coffee without having to leap up every time a crayon breaks.

Giggles n Hugs special family nights feature extra fun like balloon artists, character visits, concerts, karaoke, and dancing.

Monthly memberships are available from $33 and can make the play fee much more affordable for people who come at least once a week. The savings are even better on three, six, and 12 month memberships.

This is a natural spot for birthday parties, which cost $25 per child during normal business hours; private parties can take over the entire place for an additional $500 rental fee.

G & H also offers a handy drop-off child care service, for use by parents wanting some adult time to shop, dine, or watch a movie at the mall. Using the service requires a one-time registration fee of $35 (which includes a t-shirt for the participant), and hours are Sun-Thu 4pm-7pm and Fri-Sat 5pm-9pm. Drop-off costs $60 for three hours, or $75 for four, and includes dinner (pre-ordered), homework help, crafts, and live entertainment.

This location is in the Westfield Century City mall. Note that the play area requires socks.

tips:

The new location is larger than the original and has larger climbing equipment (in the form of a big pirate ship). There is also a great climbing structure just outside the restaurant, open to the public. There are tables outside and a take-out window, so families just wanting a quick bite and a romp - without paying to play all afternoon - have a cheaper option that's still way better than the food court.

getting there:

Giggles 'n' Hugs is located at the western-most end of the shopping center, behind the western end of Bloomingdales. The aisle that it's on ends at the giant (and fun!) web and lily pad play structure, which the restaurant faces.

The green parking area at the western end, closest to Century Park West, is closest to the restaurant, and parking is free for the first three hours.

My daughter, Riley, recently turned 2 years old and (i) I wanted to throw her party and (ii) I didnâ??t want to do a lot of work. Giggles Nâ?? Hugs was the perfect party venue. We chose the Century City location at the Westfield Century City Mall and it was perfect. The staff are helpful, attentive, and really anticipate your needs. The decor is colorful, tasteful and kid-friendly. The venue is clean and secure. Your kiddos can run and play while mommy and daddy sit down and sip a latte, all while keeping a birdâ??s eye view of the kids. The food is surprisingly good. They offer the kidsâ?? favorites like mac and cheese, chicken fingers, french fries and pizza, but also have really yummy food for adults. I chose the Chinese chicken salad (soo good!) and edamame. You can also add-on a coffee bar and wine and beer. Itâ??s a bit pricey, but if you donâ??t have time to do all the planning and want to keep all those sticky little fingerâ??s away from your own living room, it is a perfect option.

This place is truly heaven on earth for me and my kids. Thank you ! Thank you !Thank You. If you have kids that are 8 or younger do not go anywhere ells but Giggles N Hugs. You will never feel out of place when you go out to eat with your kids. I have two kids. A 3 year old girl and a 5 year old boy. We had heard about Giggles N Hugs from a friend who could not stop talking about this place who was insisting that we go and try it. So i called my best friend and her kids and we all went. Let me start by saying that they have the best and most nutritious food for kids of any restaurant i have been to. You can even sneak veggies into your child's favorite food. They have daily entertainment for kids. Last Sunday they had a group called TWINKLE TIME who is very similar to Doodle bops that performed for an hour as all the kids sang and danced and were mesmerized by the show. The play area is huge and extremely clean. They had everything a kid could imagine in the play area and more. The staff was genuinely nice and welcoming. I had gone on a play date with my best friend and her kids and i swear we did not speak to any of our kids for two hours as they played, sang, danced, got their faces painted while we enjoyed each others company and gossiped. It was like being out for a ladies night without the kids. To top it all off, out of the blue, a beautiful Cinderella came out and took pictures with all the kids and played the parachute game as everyone went into a frenzy. As i said before, eating out with my kids will never be the same. You must try this incredible Restaurant/play center and see for yourself what Giggles N Hugs is all about. You will thank me later.

I am a mother 4 year old twins. I had been looking for a place like giggles N Hugs since my kids turned 1. This place is truly magical. There is no where in town where i can go with my kids and eat some of the best food i have ever tasted and have my kids play at the same time. I go and turn on my laptop as they have WIFI and get my work done while my kids have the time of there life. As i said the food is great and healthy as they sneak veggies into kids favorite foods. I had a Beet Salad that was as good as if not better than the one i got at Spagos. Its the cleanest kids place on the planet. The staff is unbelievably friendly and the entire place is beautiful with incredible and magical murals through out the restaurant. The play area was filled with a life size Pirate ship, a giant castle , a merry go round and many other stuff . It has all kinds of toys , rides and video games for kids including a Nintendo WII and the X box Kennect. We got there around 2pm on Friday with only about 10 families there. The Beautiful girls in the play area did some face painting (for FREE i might add) and played games with my twins and the other kids. Then it was time for arts and crafts. we got a chance to meet and take pictures with A few characters in costume ( Mickey and Minnie surprised us). It was magical. We had so much fun that my twins decided that they wanted to stay for Disco night which is every Friday night at 6pm. I have never written a review before but we had so much fun and this place is so great that i had to take the time to let you all know on this and other sites. I also wrote the same review on Yelp to let all the parents know about this incredible oasis for parents with toddlers.
