Warwick's Governor Francis Inn (or Governor's, as it's known to the neighborhood clientele) is a terrific family restaurant that has been at this location for decades. Deriving its name from the adjacent neighborhood, Governor Francis Farms, it's a hugely popular spot among the locals, with a line forming by 6pm pretty much any night of the week. The menu is, like most classic Rhode Island restaurants, a combination of seafood, steak, and a smattering of Italian. Classic items like baked stuffed shrimp and baked scallops are dependably good. The kids' menu has a selection of favorites like mac 'n' cheese, burgers, fish and chips, and spaghetti. Crayons are handed out as a matter of course. The bar is definitely a key part of Governor's, but there are rooms that are out of sight of the bar, too.
