Gymcats - one of the largest gymnastics facilities in the Las Vegas area - offers four programs for kids who like movement: gymnastics, cheerleading, martial arts, and dance.
Gymcats bases its curriculum on the USA Gymnastics Jr. Olympic program, which provides training at all levels of gymnastics from beginning to the Olympic Level. The gym's claim to fame since opening in 1992 are the momentous careers of Olympian Tasha Schwikert (also a two-time National Champion); 14 of the gym's graduating seniors have gone on to full gymnastics scholarships at various universities.
The dance program comprises ballet, tap, jazz, hip-hop, and lyrical. The martial arts program is taught in the area of Shorin-Ryu.
The facility starts most of its classes around age two, but there is a small selection of "kitten" and "cub" courses for toddlers. Mommy & Me classes are popular here, and even babies (pre-walking) get their playtime once a week on Tuesday mornings.
Kids can host their birthday parties here: The venue offers a party room set up with tables, chairs, tablecloths and paper goods; certified instructors lead and supervise the party children during 45 minutes of tumbling and jumping activities.
Open Gym takes place throughout the week for various ages, including Saturday afternoon between 12:30pm-2pm. Check the website for more details.
