Decadent, scrumptious, heavenly, tempting - we could go on and on about the appeal of Happy Cakes, a small shop in the Highlands Square neighborhood that calls itself "Denver's original gourmet cupcake bakery."
Flavors include white chocolate macadamia, Mexican chocolate, pineapple upside-down, lemon ginger, French toast, oatmeal butterscotch, cookies 'n' cream, and one called "cosmo," which Martha Stewart herself deemed one of her favorites during her show's Cupcake Week. Wow!
Happy Cakes caters all kinds of events - weddings, birthdays, office meetings - and also offers a pretty unique idea for kids: Decorate-Your-Own Party Kits, featuring everything guests need to create their own cupcake masterpiece such as "naked cupcakes," piping bags of frosting, and loads of fun sprinkles.
The store also offers a small selection of unique gifts, including handmade aprons for kids and grown-ups, t-shirts, first birthday onesies, cards, and more.

Gluten-free cupcakes are available each Thursday and come in chocolate, vanilla, lemon, and pumpkin. Special orders can be arranged for other days, too.
