Hollins Market, established in 1846, takes its name from the Hollins family, who were large landowners. Soldiers of the Civil War stationed nearby often stopped here while supplies were sent to Washington for shipment to Union soldiers in the field. Today shoppers can find a tempting array of produce, meats and seafood, baked goods, eateries, and several gift shops.
