Il Fornaio means "the baker" in Italian and fresh bread is part of what people have come to expect from this restaurant. But it also serves up wonderful Italian food with a Californian influence - lots of fresh vegetables - and the elegant ambiance makes almost every meal here feel like an occasion.
Children are welcome and the kid's menu is more sophisticated than most - vegetable ravioli in cream sauce, Insalata della Nonna - but still centered around old standbys, like macaroni & cheese, and pizza.
Il Fornaio also offers monthly cooking classes.
