The most unique play-thing inside Kettlemuck's Toy Store cannot be bought - it's the Great Sand Dune area, a huge pit into which kids are absolutely allowed to jump, roll, and crawl. The pit cushions most rough-housing with white beads made from recycled milk cartons. An added perk: small, affordable toys hidden throughout, which young patrons can find and purchase for $5 a sack. Nifty!
The store stocks interactive and educational toys, classic toys, and those from many different cultures. Science-related toys are a big hit: chemistry sets, insect gardens, model airplaces, and geology kits are sold. One thing they all have in common? None require batteries.
The store is happy to host birthday parties; call for more details.
