Sweethearts of all kinds - romantic, platonic, and familial - are celebrated on February 14, and in the weeks ahead, numerous venues have scheduled plenty of events for kids and families to get into the lovey-dove, crafty, pink-and-red spirit. Plan ahead: Events may require advance registration.
February 5, 2009: Teens can have a sweet time at the Central library learning how to make a bouquet of chocolate kiss roses to give as a gift for Valentine's Day.
February 7, 2009: Teens are invited to the McClatchy Branch Library for an afternoon of chocolate, chocolate, chocolate! Participants can sample some sweets and make some treats.
February 10, 2009: Love is in the air at Belle Cooledge Branch Library during a Valentine's Program which invites kids to make fun cards to share with family and friends.
February 11, 2009Families are invited to McClatchy Branch Library for a Valentine Chocolate Party. The library supplies lots of glitter, glue, doilies, stickers and other fun things to make Valentines. Participants just bring their creativity.
February 13, 2009: Teens can have a sweet time at the Courtland Branch Library learning how to make a bouquet of chocolate kiss roses to give as a gift for Valentine's Day.
