Held in conjunction with Lollapalooza every year, Kidzapalooza gives little rockers the chance to have just as much fun as their parents. In addition to a Tag-a-Kid service (which tracks kids in case they get separated from parents), the festival offers a number of children's services each day: School of Rock Jam Tent: Members of Paul Green's School of Rock All Stars are on site for workshops and assist kids in handling different types of instruments. Kids are free to rock out on any and all instruments, a full rock band is set up that includes drums, mics, guitars, amps, bass, and keyboards. Breakdancing Workshops: A dance floor is set up in the shade, and kids can learn break dancing with the Brickheadz. Double Dutch Workshops: Kids can jump in rhythm while swinging through the ropes, learn some new skills, and watch amazing footwork. Hip Hop Workshop: The Q Brothers teach kids how to scratch, beatbox, and rhyme - and kids get to take home a CD of their phat tracks! Hairdooz with Siren Salon: Kids can get rock-styled using environmentally kid friendly products, from pink mohawks to other punky styles. Hosted by the Chicago Parks District, Arts at Play is a fun area in which kids can create a musical instrument using recycled materials. A partnership between the Chicago Park District and the School of the Art Institute Chicago, The Inferno Studio Mobile Recording Studio is on hand to provide kids with the opportunity to record sounds from recycled material. Make Your Own Tote with Julius and Small Paul: Kids can make their own environmentally friendly totes with Julius and Small Paul (by Paul Frank). Kids get to choose their own screens, pick their ink, select a tote, and take home their very own customized Small Paul tote bag.
