The first of its kind in the US, the LEGOLAND Discovery Center offers LEGO-happy kids the chance to spend the day surrounded by the ubiquitous bricks - in all sizes, from small to giant.
The journey into LEGOLAND begins with a walk past a miniature Chicago made entirely of LEGO bricks - nearly 1.5 million of them! - in which creations range from a squirrel (made with only four bricks) to a model Sears Tower, which uses 190,000 bricks and weighs more than 200 pounds.
Other adventures include an Adventure Trail (featuring jungle animals made out of bricks), a Factory Tour (in which kids can learn how LEGOs are made), a Dragon Ride through a not-so-scary dungeon, a 4D movie that uses all the senses to tell a story, and a Soft Play area for little ones. Throughout the facility, kids can find plenty of life-sized LEGO models - including Darth Vader, Harry Potter, and Sponge Bob Squarepants - for photo ops.
LEGOLAND offers private rooms for birthday parties, and there is a cafe on site if kids get hungry (or adults need a cup of coffee) to keep going.
