Laser tag players are equipped with laser tag "guns" and wear smart vests that record "hits" during a high-tech game that combines tag and hide and seek. The
Laser Quest facility is a large, multi-level arena with specialty lighting, fog, and pounding music. The game is played either individually or on teams; the goal is to score as many points (hits) as possible.
Wildly popular with tweens and teens, and especially with youth groups, we think it's a good activity for parents and kids. It's a loud activity, though, so don't expect much thoughtful conversation.
Birthday parties at Laser Quest vary a bit at each location, but they're popular, so
book early to secure your date. Party package pricing starts at $12 per guest; more information is available at the
website.
Although the
Laser Quest folks advertise the game for players "ages five to 85," we suggest participants be at least eight or ten years old before launching into a game. It's an intense environment (did we mention it's loud?) and the sensor vest players are required to wear is heavy and fairly long - a short or sleight player will find it difficult to run in the equipment.
