Our family had a delightful experience with Laura. Her work is the best we've seen! If I could give her 10 stars I would....happy customer!

Laura was great to work with. Outstanding professional and very talented. We saw her gift bags in Target and I recognized the pictures from a workshop she taught for Moms. I knew she would be perfect for our family. I have five adopted children and two of them are special needs. She was gentle, kind and did a great job. I am looking forward to working with her again in the future, and am recommending her to other Moms.

We went to her photography class and had a great time...go if you can! It was advertised on Livingsocial and my mom gave it to my sister and I as a gift. I have four step-children and two biological children ages 4-16. I left the class feeling like I finally have ideas on how to take better pictures of my kids both together and all by themselves. I'd definitely go if you can get a ticket. Watch for the Livingsocial special, it's a great deal. She has a second class coming up on editing that we are looking forward to!

Love her! She's GREAT with children, very patient and kind. I bought a Groupon for a photo class and it was fun and full of info. I hired her after the class and we received our final portraits last week. The kid's expressions are very soft and natural. I'll be going to her again and again...highly recommended.

I found her at a Mommy's photography class in St Louis Park. After seeing her work there, I knew we wouldn't be disappointed. My four year old daughter was home and included in the portraits too, which was nice. I will treasure these forever!

I originally heard about Laura's photography from a friend of mine in our Mother's of Multiples group. Laura did her twin's newborn portraits and they were beautiful! I hired Laura for our triplet's two year old photos, and she was amazing. You have to be a really patient person to work with 3 two year olds! She saw each of their very different personalities and obviously had a lot of experience with multiples. We plan to use her again for our family pictures in the Fall. I saw someone mention she was pricey but after researching several photographers of her caliber, we found her fees to be very competitive. Very impressive, high-quality work

Two of my sisters and I hired Laura to do a large family group session in Arden Hills. She was great! She spent a great deal of time with us and took pictures of our families individually in addition to all of us together (which we didn't expect!). We viewed out pics online less than a week later, and when we decided what we wanted we got our order only a week later. She even shipped pics to all of our different addresses! We couldn't be more thrilled with the time she took and the extraordinary portraits. I've already booked my son's 3 year old pictures and am looking forward to working with her again. You'll be very pleased with her!

Fun class! For Christmas my husband gave me a gift certificate to go to one of Laura's classes on photographing children. I have not laughed so hard in a long time! I went with my sister to the St Louis Park class and am going back next month with two friends from work. I told them about the class today and as it turns out Laura did a newborn session for my co-worker last year and I didn't even know it was the same photographer. The pictures are SO cute...I can't wait to have her do my family pictures this Fall!

If you are looking for unique photos I would definitely recommend her! We did a photo session for our daughter's four year old pictures at the Como Park Conservatory and they turned out beautifully. I have worked with several different photographers over the years (I have a 13, 9, 7 and 4 year old), and Laura's work is the most unique and natural. I was able to view my daughters portraits just four days following our session, and after I ordered them they arrived the same week! We will definitely go back to her!

The Moms from my ECFE group attended Laura's class last week and we were so totally amazed at everything she can pack in to only three hours! We learned an incredible amount from her and are planning to go back to her next class. The night I was there, there was a lady at my table who was coming to the class for the third time. Two other Moms in line with us at check in had hired her before and couldn't say enough wonderful things about her. My neighbor did hire her after the class to do her daughter's 2 year old pictures and is really looking forward to it. I would too but she's pretty spendy (rightfully so...here work is so beautiful!). I'd highly recommend this class, you'll learn a lot and she is absolutely adorable!

I posted a few days ago about the terrible experience my friend and I had with Laura Monahan Photography. I'm here to follow up. This afternoon I finally received a phone call from Laura herself. She was VERY sweet and apologetic. She didn't make excuses. Just said she was sorry that somehow we did not receive the group e-mail about the cancelled workshop class. She offered to reschedule us for another workshop. I explained that I had already gotten Amazon Local to cancel the voucher and she offered to have us attend a workshop as her guests. So, I will still be headed to the workshop after all. I will follow up again later to let you know how it goes. Even though I told Laura I appreciated her following up, I still think it took WAY too long for someone to call us. Here's to hoping we have a better experience this time.

Horrible experience in every aspect. Scheduling was a nightmare to actually get a response and when I finally did I was so excited she had an opening. When she arrived to the shoot she was disheveled, rushed and her camera was full. She actually missed the only good shot of all 3 kids because she had to delete pictures off her camera. We were promised a 45-60 minute shoot and she seriously spent 15 minutes with us. The pictures we did receive were not edited at all. The only 2 family pics have people milling around in the background and a rather large unsightly tent. She definitely didn't pay attention to detail. I emailed and finally gave up after several attempts with no response and just ordered my prints that were already paid for. I was told 7 days to receive them and here it is 1 month later with no prints and yer again no response. Don't waste your time people... She is to unpredictable and doesn't even have the courtesy to return email or phone calls.

Best night ever! Two of my friends and I attended a Mom's Night Out class. We were very happy with the tips that we learned and are using them already!! I would definitely encourage Moms to take this. I have a 16-month old, one of my friends has two kids in elementary school and the other I friend I went with is having her first baby next month. We learned about all of the different ages. She covered older kids too so I have info to take with me as the kids get older. We bought it through LivingSocial and it was a really good deal.

I purchased an Amazon Local deal for a 3 Hour Mom's Night Out Workshop with Laura Monahan Photography. I registered along with a friend to attend the Feb. 3 workshop in Maple Grove, MN. I received e-mail confirmation almost immediately from Laura's administrative assistant. She e-mailed us more information about what to expect for the evening along with the name of the hotel where the event was scheduled to take place. We were told to watch our e-mail inboxes as the date approached in case something changed regarding the location. On Feb. 3 my friend and I showed up at the hotel only to find no events were scheduled to take place there that night. We checked our e-mail again and neither of us had gotten a message that plans had changed. Both of us have been calling the numbers on the website, e-mailing, and sending messages via the FB page. We have yet to hear anything back from them about what happened. I finally gave up and complained to Amazon Local tonight. They cancelled the voucher and refunded our money. I'm happy I've got my money back, but am disappointed that I missed out on the workshop. Sounds like Laura Monahan Photography needs to improve their customer service!

I hired Laura after going to her photography workshop. After seeing all of her beautiful pictures there, I knew I wouldn't be disappointed. Everyone is asking me now who my photographer is...she's really great to work with and our 3-year-old daughter is asking when she'll be back again. If you're looking for someone I would definitely recommend her!

We (four of us!) went to "moms night out" photography class that Laura teaches. My sister heard about it from a coworker. It was one of the funnest things we've done in ages! As a mom of one toddler and two pre-schoolers, I don't really get out on my own very often. The ambiance was great with candles and tropical music, and we had a choice of a variety of wines to boot. I haven't eaten that much chocolate in a long time! I learned a lot and have organized some moms from my MOPS group to go back together in December. Fun!

She's a blast to work with...beautiful pictures that we are very happy with! Unique and creative!

I just got my daughter's 6 month old pictures back and they are darling, I love them! Laura was great to work with. Before the session she spent time with me making sure that she had a good idea of what I was looking for. When I made the appointment she suggested I bring my mom and dad with so that we have grandparent pictures too. I will treasure these pictures forever...it didn't even occur to me to ask my mom and dad. We met at Fish Lake Park in Maple Grove so we were able to bring our dog too, which was nice to have in our family picture. My husband took the day off work, and was at first skeptical about why I wanted to hire a photographer instead of go to a studio at the mall or something like that. Once he saw them he knew exactly why! He already gave the OK to hire her again for our daughter's 1 year pictures. She is more expensive than some other photographers I called, but well worth it!

In August my sister and I attended a Moms Night Out photography class with Laura that we found on Groupon. We had so much fun! We were served wine and the atmosphere was great. The day after the class we were so excited that we took over 100 pictures with all of the tips she shared, and our photos really improved. Both of us hired Laura for our family pictures this year. The portraits were awesome, even made my husband cry! Both my sister and I plan to use her again next Fall. She's very high-end and worth it!

We have hired Laura for six years in a row to photograph our family. She is amazing with the children and we LOVE her work. I've recommended her to many friends and they have hired her over and over again too. She has a warm personality and the children adore her.I completely disagree with the reviews below. She's definitely very professional with an outstanding reputation. We've always viewed our portraits shortly after our session, and have received them within a week...super fast! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED, FIVE STARS from one happy mom!

We have hired Laura six years in a row to photograph our family. She's amazing with the children and we always LOVE her work! The kids have a lot of fun during our sessions, and she's able to catch all of their natural smiles/expressions. I've recommended her to many of my friends who have also been very pleased with her photography. I completely disagree with the reviews below. She's always on time, we are able to view our pictures right away, and our orders have always come within a week...really fast! She's very professional and a delight to work with. Five stars!

I completely agree with the first review!!! We also bought a deal on living social back in February. Contact with Laura and her supposed assistant is impossible. She takes weeks to reply to an email and never answers her phone. When I finally got of hold of Laura I requested a refund because we could not get an appointment that fit her schedule. (She is also a photographer in Colorado.) She promised me she would fit me and my family in. After several cancelled appointments over the last four months we finally had a set location and time only to have her show up an hour late. That is unacceptable when toddlers are involved. She was disheveled, flighty and the session was very uncomfortable. We we're told the pictures would be available for viewing in 10 days. We have yet to even see the pictures. I would not recommend her services and wish I could rate her a zero star rating!

We bought a Living Social Deal and have been very disappointed...we never even got to the point of having our photos taken. We have been in contact with the owner since FEBRUARY and still have not had our photos taken. Response time is very slow and often takes two to three emails from our side to get one. We have been cancelled on and we don't hear back when we are told we will we on or by a certain date. The examples of photos on her website are beautiful, but trying to actually set up the photo shoot is way too much work.
