TERRIBLE TERRIBLE PLACE... super high prices, terrible instructors, and horrible management. i do not recommend it to anyone... i also agree with "IKHKBT," all the good instructors and staff have all left.....very disappointing...

After several months of lessons here, my five year old daughter complained to me that an Instructor hurt her by squeezing her arm, apparently for not paying attention in class. (Note I was at the lesson and she was not being disruptive to the class).

When I took the issue to the head of the Swim School, his reaction was to refund our money and ask us to not return to the school.

Perhaps there are parents who do not mind Instructors assaulting their First graders and using corporal punishment. It is NEVER okay for an instructor to physically discipline a child who is not theirs. This school and their reaction to this abuse issue is totally unsatisfactory.

I actively recommend people avoid this school.

The good instructors and staff have all left.....very disappointing.

We LOVE Leahi Swim School! Leahi has done more for our daughters that we could ever imagine. After trying the YMCA and the district pools, we found that the classes were too large, the pools too cold and the instruction was sub-par. We felt that there was no observable progress in swimming ability. With our older daughter, we tried Leahi Swim School in Pearl City when it first opened up and noticed a huge improvement in not only swimming ability, but her overall confidence when at the pool or the beach! We also enjoyed the free weekly community swim time that allowed our daughters to practice what they had learned in their lessons

Leahi Swim School provided our children with wonderful instructors that were professional, competent, and skilled. The staff at Leahi is friendly and accommodating. They take the time to really get to know the kids! Leahi offers class times to meet any busy schedule. Both of our children progressed rapidly with weekly lessons throughout the year. I highly recommend Leahi Swim School if you want your child to be a proficient, confident swimmer, with water safety skills. Sure, other places may be cheaper, but you get what you pay for.

I enrolled my grandson in the Leahi Swim School in June of 2006 when he had just turned two years old. What a great program!!!! Leahi has been around for 30 plus years and my grandson really benefited from their well established swim system. He will be seven in May and is an excellent swimmer. He is quite competent and has developed into a competitive little swimmer thanks to the great, sequential system they have there. The swim instructors are excellent. He still loves his weekly classes and we feel like part of the Leahi Swim School family. Mahaho to Ben and Kelli and all the Leahi family for making it all happen there for our kids.

My 2 daughters, ages 6 and 9 have been going to Leahi Swim School in Pearl City for the last 5 years. Through the Leahi Staff, they have become very good swimmers. The Leahi Staffs are very professional, kid friendly and good instructors. We tried the other recreational swimming classes but the pool waters were almost always too cold for the children. The pool at the Leahi Swim School is heated and my kids love it. We also had a birthday party at the pool for our girl's birthdays. With the heated pool, my girls loved it. I recommend this school for everyone. Awesome.

Our two daughters have been taking lessons at Leahi for 2 1/2 years, since they were almost 2 years old. One was afraid of the water and now both love it. Every instructor has been patient, kind and offers encouraging words to the kids. The newly renovated heated pool is awesome with its integrated ledge for all the keiki to sit on. Our kids love coming to swim!

Leahi Swim School has been EXCELLENT for our grandchildren! They have been taking lessons for 4 years, since they were 9 months old. They LOVE to swim and are very confident and comfortable in the water, and all the credit goes to Leahi. In the 4 years that we have been with Leahi, all the classes have been small, not more than 5 children with 2 instructors, so our children get a lot of attention. As former educators, we recognize effective teaching and appreciate instructors who love what they do - this is the quality of instruction our grandchildren are receiving. They are learning to swim well and they are having fun as they learn. Our grandchildren also love the newly renovated heated pool and we love the comfortable waiting area (with shade).

It is expensive and the the owner's son was rude to me on a few occassions and to my child. I am quite surprised at how unprofessional he was towards me and I am upset that I paid all this money to not only have to deal with him, but watch as my child gets very little swim time due to the large group my child was assigned to.

Leahi Swim School is amazing.. they worked wonders on my 3 year old daughter who was terribly afraid of the water. The instructors there were extremely patient, caring and understanding with my child. I previously tried the YMCA.. and yes they were cheaper... but I got exactly what I paid for... CHEAP QUALITY! The classes at the YMCA were much larger and there was only one instructor trying to manager the group of kids. My daughter didn't get the attention or instruction that she needed. I support and recommend Leahi Swim Schools program and philosophy because it works.
