Most Lowe's home improvement stores offer Build & Grow Kids' Clinics a couple times each month, teaching kids how to use hammers and other tools to make really nifty crafts - from picture frames to bird houses. The clinics are typically held on Saturday mornings, and pre-registration is required. Projects are geared toward ages two to five, but all interested children are welcome.

Participants receive an apron, a name tag, and goggles; these items should be brought in each time the child comes to a clinic. After completing each project, children earn an iron on patch for their apron.

We've enjoyed the clinics because they offer hands-on learning by doing craft projects we usually can't do around the house, and our kids have actually finished the projects before leaving the store. (Yay! No homework!) We also appreciate the fact that Lowe's personnel teach safe practices when handling tools, paints, and other project materials.
