Located inside the Lukas Nursery & Garden Shop, the Lukas Butterfly Encounter features a butterfly conservatory, caterpillar farm, and butterfly gift shop. In addition to touring the facility and learning about the environmental contributions of insects, visitors can feed the butterflies and pet caterpillars. Annual passes are available for those who'd like to return frequently. Families inspired to create their own butterfly gardens at home can purchase host and nectar plants on site, and receive all the guidance they need to create their own habitat. For those who prefer a non-living souvenir, the on-site gift shop carries butterfly jewelry, sun catchers, paintings, photographs, and other decorative and collectible items. The Encounter also hosts on-site birthday parties at a cost of $10 per child (10 child minimum). Adults attend at no charge.
