The 1600-acre park features hiking trails, picnic areas, a golf course, and a lake teeming with fish.

A visit to Mather Regional Park isn't complete without checking out the vernal pools - some of the rarest and most threatened ecosystems in the world because of the flowering plants and invertebrates that live in them.

getting there:

From U.S. Highway 50, take the Mather Field off-ramp. Follow Mather Field Rd. south to Mather Blvd. and make a left. Make another left on Douglas Blvd. Take a right on Eagles Nest Road and follow to the park entrance.
