A
long-standing Pasadena tradition in Mexican food,
Mijares got its start clear back during the 1920s, when Jesucita Mijares started a small tortilla factory with a tiny dining area. Nearly a century later, locals and visitors alike head to the restaurant for
consistently authentic tamales, tortilla soup, chile Colorado, chicken mole poblano, and a wide range of enchiladas and burritos. Mijares also has a location in
northeast Pasadena.
