about Minnesota Air National Guard Museum:

The Minnesota Air National Guard Museum displays about 20 different aircraft in an outdoor Air Park on the active base, including fighters, transports, trainers, and helicopters. Inside the museum building (Cold War Alert Hangar; Apr-Oct, select Saturdays 11am-4pm) are educational exhibits exploring the history of the Minnesota Air National Guard and other aspects of aviation and aircraft, and a gift shop.

Private tours can be scheduled Thu-Sat year-round - a great option for airplane-crazy kids. Book in advance and be prepared to provide names and ages of all participants (and driver's license numbers for adults).

tips:

Keep in mind that this is an active base! All adult visitors must show a photo ID to enter and vehicles are subject to search.

getting there:

Located at the northeast corner of MSP International Airport. Follow signs for the Minnesota National Air Guard, and request permission to enter at the entry shack.
