Everyone is going to have there own OPINION on every studio in the town - My opinion I have been to 3 other studios in the town and nothing compares to N.Y.C. - my daughter is 7 years old and has been dancing since she is 3 and has never learned as much as she did this year at N.Y.C. there is no other studio out there teaching these kids Pirouettes, extensions and kicks the way N.Y.C. is teaching!!! This studio is great!!!!! I would recommend it to anyone!!!! I am not too sure if maybe others just did not want to follow the rules but rules are rules no matter where you go. You just can't have everything YOUR way every where you go and a lot of people in this town feel there should be NO RULES No matter where they are and it's just WRONG!!!!!! My Daughter Rocks and N.Y.C. Dance Rocks!!!!!!!

After the year this place has had I wont be back. Bad attitude, has no business sense at all. Owner/Director has no idea how to run a business. Its not all about fun and games. There are fundamentals of dance and they arent being taught here. Padded reviews below

My daughter has been attending NYC dance for 4 years and she is 6 years old. They are our family. My daughter has blossomed into a true dancer, but the best part is she did it in a fun and relaxed environment. She has gained great self esteem and confidence. Every size and shape is welcome and I never feel that a child is never told they are not good enough. Works for me!!! Dancing should be about having a great time.

I disagree with these parents stating that the little kids are being pushed and not acting their ages. I have been with the NYC Dance family from the very beginning and I'm in Show Business so I know a thing or two about how proper training should be. In any performance, regardless of age, the performing needs to know a wide variety of things. If this means they learn Hip-Hop or any newer dance style, so be it, because face it, the nation is basing popular music around these Pop-ish genres. Costumes are costumes, if they are dressed, be thankful for small favors, and that's that, because I seen far worse then what you claim NYC Dance puts on. And a Big point is about the windows and viewing the classes. The reason for not having one is that your child may be distracted in the room, thus nothing gets done. Do you really think my Parents were with me, and wanted to view the rehearsal, when I had to rehearse for a musical or play? Let's be real here, and I'm speaking from a very young age they trusted the artists. To sum up NYC Dance's style, when I see all the little kids having big, glowing smiles on their faces because they learned how to do something new or they had fun making or seeing friends, there must be something right going on behind those "Closed Doors". All the great schools of dance, around the nation, are very much like the NYC Dance Studio so know that your child is getting some of the finest dance training out there.

My 3 daughters attend NYC and have since they opened their doors. We are there 4-5 times a week for various classes and absolutely love it. The teachers and staff work very hard. The jazz dances are fast paced, fun, and edgy, not boring, slow, and old school. The kids feel welcomed to be there, and so do I, it's like we are an extended part of the family. The studio is always clean, the location is great, and prices are very reasonable. We all know you can't please everyone, but NYC is #1 with our family!

My daughter has been going to N.Y.C Dance since she was 18 months old. It's AMAZING at how much she has evolved as a dancer in 2 years. There is never a day that she doesn't ask about the teachers and going to dance. Not only is she learning, but she is having fun and making friends, too. Miss Kristin and her staff are GREAT!!!! I would definitely reccomend this studio to anyone!

I have been an N.Y.C. Dance Mom for the past 2 years and I Love it there!!!! I wanted to say that I disagree very much with the post below and I am also on the Auto-Pay program and have been for the 2 years I have been there and its great!!!! The papers you sign during registration explain everything to the fullest and by signing on the bottom you are allowing N.Y.C. to charge your card for any bills you have on the account. Its great it allows you not to have to worry about anything!!!! Even they sent home a note with costume saying that costumes and tuition will be charged on the 1st of November.. Its truly a great stress free place & the teachers are amazing Miss Trista, Miss Laura, Miss Kristin I Love Them & so does my 2 daughters!!!! I would not go anywhere else!!!!!!

They charged money to my account that they had on auto pay with out my consent. The teachers are just children and have no controll over the children. Children go in and out of class unsupervised. Fire hazard where parents stand out side of the door in the small hal.

N.Y.C. Dance has moved into there gorgeous 2,500 Sq. Ft. Facility!!! You should all go check it out!!! It is in the same Publix Shopping Plaza they just moved to the NEW side next to American Pie (New Address - 328 Moore Rd. Ocoee, F 34761) The Place looks amazing & it is a wonderful dance studio / Excellent Staff. I have been with Miss Kristin since she first opened & My kids would never think to go anywhere else!!!!!! If you did not like the old studio you should try them in there New location. THEY NOW HAVE PEEPING WINDOW!!!!!!

I traveled from Tampa with my daughter and had the pleasure of visiting NYC Dance! I was even given a brief tour of the new studio becuase we traveled so far. Although its almost complete it still looks amazing and its twice as big as the current one. I had seen them preform at a compitition here in tampa and was very impressed with the staff and how the kids responded to them. They offered a free class and now my daughter doesnt want to go anywhere else! They offer a reasonable price and the kids seem to have great time! As for the other posts about not being able to see what they are doing, i think the new studio is more parent friendly but all the same id rather wait and see the finished product at a recital, i think the staff does a great job with the kids and the dances I've see are really cute.

I visited NYC Dance when touring various studios in the area for my 3-year-old. We tried a couple of trials but the teachers had no control of the class, the recital costumes were not age appropriate, the lobby was very small, and there was no way to view the students during class. There are so many better dance studios then this one.

My 5 year old daughter attends NYC dance. She is very happy with it!!!! I felt that the dance recital was well put together and age appropriate. I was very impressed that at the end of the show all of the children were given a trophy. It gives the children a great sense of accomplishment. I've had my daughter in another school and they did not award the children with anything. It is true that you can not view behind closed doors, but it made the recital even that much more special. I would recommend this school!

These girls know how to do it. I'm so impressed with the teachers and staff. I've had a chance to peak at my duaghter's tap & jazz recital dances and I'm very suprised at the previous post. They are dancing to songs from High School Musical and The Alvin and the Chipmonk Movie. All of the moves were cute. I didn't find anything inappropriate at this school.... believe me, I've experienced it elsewhere, but not at NYC. They must be thinking of a different dance studio?

N.Y.C. is a great dance studio with all the latest dance steps. N.Y.C. is not the nutcracker dance studio. I must disagree the dancers did all age appropriate dance moves at the recital. I would recommend N.Y.C. Dance to anyone looking for a fun atmospher with all the lastest dance moves. You can not beat the location, the parking is great and you can go food shopping while your child is dancing I love it!!!!

I agree with the first poster that last year's show was jam packed with little girls trying to dance like much older girls. The costumes were cute but the movements that were taught these young impressionable kids seemed short of a burlesque show. Ask to see a video of last year's show and see for yourself.

This Company is great and I must disagree with the comment below! This dance studio is CLEAN, Friendly, Teachers are great, The Tuition and Fees you can not compare, & The Dancing is great!!!! I can not wait to see what they put together this year for the recital!!! I recommend this studio to all & its a great location you can go food shop while your kids are dancing!!! Check Them Out A.S.A.P!!!!

...with fees that look reasonable. Everything about this company is totally disorganized. The New York accent and attitude comes across loud and clear.

I visited several other dancing schools before finding NYC Dance for my 3 year old. They welcome students 2yrs and up and best of all, when my 14 month old starts dance next year, she will already be familiar with the teachers! They are truly professionals and I feel comfortable with the staff. Both teachers have certifications hanging on the wall. The studio is very Clean and they have a spacious dance room.

Finally a dance studio in Central Florida that allows your child to take the classes of their choice. Ballet classes are not forced on the child in order to take a hip/hop class. This cuts down on monthly tuition and tears on those dreaded ballet days.

This place has a bad attitude. They spend endless time primping on favorites while keeping other children at arms length. Parent's are not allowed to view anything as the door is closed and there are no windows to see what is really going on. Look around before going here, the space is small and I felt many of the performances were too risque for young children.
