Located on 300 acres of the Potomac River south of DC, the developing
National Harbor offers residential space, restaurants, a huge hotel, shops, and entertainment. There is the American Market - a farmer's market held on Saturdays from May through October, summer concerts, cruises, and other special events throughout the year. The marina and surrounding areas boast an eclectic array of sculptures and art as well, including the beloved "Awakening" sculpture, which was moved from Hains Point in East Potomac Park.
The new
National Children's Museum is scheduled to open here in 2012.
