Oaklawn Cemetery, a Victorian-era graveyard founded in 1850, is a unique historic site. While walking along the gothic cemetery's winding brick pathways gives the feeling of stepping back in time, the real treat is wandering among the graves to see the 19th century grave art and reading the epitaphs, which range from the genteel to the ridiculous. The cemetery is also the final resting place for many of Tampa's founders and veterans of seven wars.
