The historic heart of the city, Old Town Manassas is home to the Historic Manassas Visitor Center, museums, historic sites, restaurants, shops, and the Harris Pavilion which hosts concerts and dances in the warmer months and is transformed into an open-air ice-skating rink in the winter.
The Historic Manassas Train Depot, built in 1914, houses the Visitor Center and the James and Marion Payne Railroad Heritage Gallery, and is also a stop for daily Amtrak and Virginia Railway Express commuter trains. The Visitor Center is open seven days a week, 9am-5pm, except New Year's Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas. It offers brochures, maps, and a friendly, knowledgeable staff.
