Opportunity Village started in 1954 by a group of parents hoping to improve the lives of their children with intellectual disabilities. It's since become Nevada's largest private, not-for-profit community rehabilitation program, serving more than 3,000 people annually through vocational training, community job placement, advocacy, and social recreation programs.
Opportunity Village is happy to accept donations and place volunteers within the organization; it also operates the Opportunity Village Thrift Store, which accepts donations of gently used household items and clothing.
Each November and December, part of the campus is turned over to The Magical Forest, a holiday-season themed attraction featuring all kinds of festive displays and activities.
