about Jordanelle State Park - Rock Cliff Nature Center:

The Rock Cliff Nature Center lies on the eastern shore of Jordanelle Reservoir. Nestled in the tall cottonwoods of the Upper Provo River, Rock Cliff offers visitors the opportunity to experience nature on a very intimate level. Elevated boardwalks and groomed interpretive trails guide visitors across wetlands and rivers to the Nature Center where educational and interpretive exhibits add to the visitor's knowledge and appreciation of this fragile environment.

Evening campfire programs are provided by Nature Center staff and guest speakers. Birdwatchers, photographers, and other nature enthusiasts come from around the nation to view the over 200 different species of birds and mammals that call Rock Cliff home. On any given day, visitors to this state park facility might see golden eagles, red-tailed hawks, hummingbirds, mule deer, elk, or moose along the Upper Provo River within Rock Cliff. In the evenings, campers can sometimes go to sleep listening to the sounds of rushing water, raccoons, and great horned owls. Camp sites in the Rock Cliff area of the park are available on a walk-in basis only.

Another recreation area of Jordanelle State Park is the Hailstone area. Hailstone is a large, developed campground and day use area on the west side of the reservoir. It is a popular spot for boaters and RV campers.

The number for the Hailstone recreation area is 435.649.9540. Rock Cliff can be reached at 435.782.3030.
