Wondering where to go to find the popular big guy in the red suit this holiday season? Families can check out these festive Santa events and activities: November 28, 2008: Jack London Square lights up as the Mayor flips the switch to illuminate a 70-foot holiday tree following the day's festivities. During the day, kids can have their pictures taken with Santa Claus and drop in on a Kid's Fun Zone with jump houses, face painting, and carnival games. November 28-December 23, 2008: Santa arrives at noon on near Peet's on Fourth Street in Berkeley. Kids can meet him, whisper their wishes, and be photographed in his big red sleigh Thursdays through Sundays until December 23. November 29, 2008: Jelly Belly celebrates the lighting of its 40 foot Christmas tree and invites families to meet Santa Claus, join in a holiday sing-along, and sample some holiday sweets. November 29, 2008: The Napa Holiday Parade begins at Napa City Hall, winds its way from downtown Napa, and ends at COPIA for a Tree Lighting Party. Festivities include hot chocolate, discounts on holiday shopping, caroling, dance performances, the tree lighting ceremony, and a visit from Santa. December 1, 2008: Families are invited to listen to holiday music, make a luminaria, wish for the future on a giant New Year's Card, get faces painted, and donate coats or canned food items during a free community festival in Berkeley's Civic Center Park. The evening's agenda also includes hot chocolate and cookies, a visit from Santa and his elves (5pm), and a 6pm tree lighting ceremony. December 4, 2008: The 79th Annual Tree Lighting takes place at McLaren Lodge in Golden Gate Park. The evening features musical performances, children's activities, caroling, and a visit from Santa.
