The William & Florence Schmidt Art Center features all kinds of nifty aspects for families; our favorite is the Schmidt Family Gardens, where kids and their grown-ups can enjoy a large variety of exotic and native plants like English Ivy blankets, forest grasses, butterfly bushes, and bamboo trees, as well as sculptural elements. The Garden was honored by the Missouri Botanical Garden as a Shaw's East Signature Garden.
Inside, the Art Center one finds exhibits of art and cultural artifacts (both permanent and visiting)and classroom space for the center's robust workshop calendar.
