Located in East Nashville adjacent to Shelby Park, Shelby Bottoms Greenway and Nature Park is comprised of 810 acres of trails, forests, open fields, wetlands, and streams. With approximately three miles of land along the Cumberland River, the area provides an excellent habitat for birds, amphibians, and other animals.
Opened in 2007, the Shelby Bottoms Nature Center includes several sustainable features such as a "green" room and waterless urinals. A variety of nature-oriented educational programs are scheduled at the facility throughout the year.
